The Blue Print



What is it?:  The Blue Print is a student newspaper. Each issue focuses on the activities and accomplishments of the students and staff here at ECCHS.  The Blue Print is created during Journalism class.  The Blue Print is created by students with the help of the class advisor.

Faculty Advisor: Mrs. Staycie Rice (A-5) 

Major Activities:  The Blue Print staff is responsible for creating six issues of The Blue Print per year.  Following each issue, the staff gets to enjoy a post-issue celebration!  The students also enjoy traveling to Six Flags in the spring during a special day set aside for students involved in such school programs. 

Who can join?:  In order to become a member of The Blue Print, students must complete an application process.  Only students who are among the list of selected applicants may join the class.  Students who are interested in being a part of The Blue Print may contact Mrs. Rice for further information. 

Requirements: Students must be willing to work diligently to complete articles, sell ads, create ads, and meet deadlines.  Students must complete an application process in order to become a member of the Journalism class and The Blue Print staff.  Rising 10th, 11thand 12th graders should complete an application in January prior to spring registration.  The application involves teacher recommendations and journalistic writing. Staff members are required to sell business ads throughout the school year, write articles, photograph school events, and create ads for each issue.
