FFA members from Elbert County High School took part in the 87th State FFA Convention in Macon GA.  This convention drew an announced attendance of  6,254 members and guests from all across the State.  Some of the highlights of the Convention trip are:

The 12 ECCHS FFA members were treated to an outstanding 2.5 hour tour of Williams Dairy Farm, a dairy farm that milks 1600 cows three times a day. They then attended the Convention Career Show, with over 75 colleges and companies displaying their specialty and/or services.  On Friday, the students traveled to Andersonville and spent the morning at the Civil War Prisoner of War Museum and National Cemetery at Camp Sumter.  Friday afternoon saw the students back in Macon at Convention for a session.  Saturday morning, two students from ECCHS were recognized for their accomplishments over the past three years when they received the prestigious State FFA Degree, the highest degree that any State FFA Association can give its members.  Luke Butler and Deanna Ruff were the students who have worked long and hard to receive this recognition.  Finally, the ECCHS Chapter was recognized as achieving 100% membership.  Tanya Anderson was presented a plaque on behalf of the Georgia FFA Association to the Elbert County High School Chapter.
