State Trooper Luke Mize spoke to the Introduction to Law Enforcement, Public Safety, Corrections and Security class at ECCHS on February 24. He explained what his primary job duties include, what kind of post-secondary education he took to become a Law Enforcement Officer, and in general the role and history of Georgia State Patrol. He was also able to answer questions that students had on his job and duties.

Trooper Mize is a 2006 graduate of ECCHS. He is currently employed as a Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol, out of the Hartwell Barracks. Prior to Luke becoming a State Trooper in April 2013, he was an Elberton Police Officer for 6 years, following his fathers footsteps. Pierce Mize was the assistant Chief of Police for the Elberton Police Department for many years.
